We completed a major kitchen renovation which included a large island and extensive counter top area, the quartzite that Dave installed for us arguably set the stage for the success of the entire renovation and resulted in the creation of our dream kitchen. Every time we entertain our friends and family the quartzite counter tops get the best accolades. Despite the fact that we were new to this experience the entire process from slab selection to final installation was made very easy by Dave’s experienced advice, helpful nature and total customer care. When we began our kitchen, laundry and master bath renovation, I reached out to several counter top installers.  One came highly recommended through a co-worker. When he arrived, he diligently used a tape measure and graph paper to sketch the dimensions of our counters.   He assured us we would have an estimate with days.

When no calls came from any other installers, I searched Northern Rock Tops and Dave answered right away.  Within a day or so he arrived with suitcase, tripod and iPad.  He assured me he wasn’t moving in!  Using a laser connected to his iPad, Dave was able to “shoot” all the walls and cabinet fronts.  The exact drawings appeared on his screen.  When questioned about them looking crooked, Dave explained walls and cabinetry are never perfectly straight, and corners are never perfect 90’s.  His measurements are fed into his digital template machine and cut perfectly to our specifications.  Very impressive!

Dave gave us a number of granite suppliers and also invited us to his shop to see his stock.  He explained everything we needed to know when visiting the suppliers.  We purchased our kitchen slabs from a supplier in Markham, however the laundry room quartz and master bath room granite we purchased from Dave.  He took our under-mount sinks to ensure the openings were cut perfectly.

On installation day, Dave and Justin were on time and well prepared with the stone carefully braced not to break when moving and a special dolly to roll the heavy slabs through the house.  Our cat was traumatized, but I found the process amazing!  Dave and Justin fit seven large stone pieces and 5 sinks in short order.  They joined one seam with an incredible suction device to pull the slabs tightly together, making the seam invisible.  The fit against the walls, corners and cabinetry was perfect.

Thanks to Dave our renovation was done well before the holidays and under budget.   We hired him back the following year to renovate another property’s  kitchen and master bath and have recommended him to our neighbours.

We had our kitchen counter done in Granite, by Northern Rock Tops Inc, and we were very pleased with their precision workmanship, by their team, under the direction of Dave McGarry. They left our kitchen spotless, as if they were never here.

We wanted to see, what kind of work they do, and since we were so satisfied with their work, that made our kitchen look much brighter, so now we decided to have all our washroom counters, done by them in Granite also.
